A working web app for an agricultural or field-heavy business usually needs three things to hold up: it has to work on a phone with a weak signal, it has to handle numbers that must be exactly right, and it has to survive the busy season when everyone hits it at once. For the walnut grower above, we used Laravel for the settlement logic because the pay rules had real complexity: different rates by variety, deductions for moisture and defects, and split payments across family partners. That kind of logic is easier to get right and audit in one place than scattered across a frontend.

Here is a mistake we see often in rural business software. A developer treats availability or inventory as a simple current count, then the app falls apart the moment two people update it during harvest. Real inventory in a packing operation depends on inbound loads, what is committed to orders, and shrinkage from grading, all changing at the same hour. We design for that from the start with a PostgreSQL database that enforces the rules, rather than trusting the browser to keep everyone honest.
