We solved this by building a Laravel-based backend that pulls data from the existing SIS via REST APIs, then stores it in MySQL with a normalized schema optimized for cross-tab reporting. The frontend uses React for real-time dashboards that update instantly when teachers submit grades or attendance. One client, a Beacon vocational school, now runs their entire operations from a single dashboard that replaced three separate systems: student records, equipment checkout, and workshop scheduling.
